The X Factor Australia Recap Tuesday 25th September -- Carmello Replaces Josh Brookes In Mel B's Team!

25 September 2012

After the scandal of Josh Brookes' hasty exit from The X Factor Australia – the show seemed desperate to dust itself off and restart the party!

Uncharacteristically for this kind of programme – they decided to let everyone know straight off the bat who would be replacing Josh… crowd favourite Carmello!

With the business of Josh’s replacement over and done with the show went on with Angel Tupai shaking the stage with her rendition of Young Hearts Run Free – as well as debuting a very Miley-esque side cut blonde hairdo!

Jason once again divided the judges opinions with both his moves and song choice with Dancing In The Moonlight – but Fortunate managed to bounce back from last week with a killer performance of Blame It On The Boogie.

Nathaniel wowed the audience and judges with his smooth moves and smooth voice for his rendition of Canned Heat by Jamiroquai – but copped comparisons to a smurf because of his all blue suit!

Bella Ferraro’s slowed down and stripped back version of One Direction’s What Makes You Beautiful had most of the judges almost brawling with Natalie Bassingthwaite about whether it could be classified as a party track! Mel B also told Bella where to go after her comment about singing a Spice Girls song – telling her to  come back when she had sold 75million albums. OUCH!

What About Tonight’s performance was almost overshadowed by Mel B’s fiery exchange with Nat Bass over her ‘manufactured artists’ comment – but with a quick acapella that showed why the boys are so popular the attention was soon returned to them!

Justin tackled a very difficult choice in Bohemian Rhapsody and didn’t quite pull it off with Ronan labelling it “awkward” – but Carmello soon picked up the mood with a swinging version of Everlasting Love, with all four judges welcoming him to the competition.

Samantha Jade once again showcased her incredible vocal talent, but Mel and Nat both agreed that she needs to show more personality – while Shiane took on a track almost 30 years older than her, but still managed to show much older singers how it is done!

The show closed on The Collective singing Footloose – and once again they absolutely owned the stage and the judges hearts! Even Mel conceded that Ronan has a good chance of winning the X Factor with the boys!
