FIRST LISTEN: Altiyan Childs' New Single 'Headlines' PLUS Win The Chance To Meet Him!

26 November 2012

We have a very special treat for Alti-fans today – Altiyan Childs’ brand new single ‘Headlines’!

This song is not officially released until next week, but Altiyan has been kind enough to give us a preview to share with all his loyal fans.

‘Headlines’ is definitely the comeback single that Alti-fans have been waiting for, and showcases Altiyan’s signature rock vocal style, as well as an inspiring and uplifting message.

Watch our backstage interview with Altiyan Childs from the ARIA Awards last year!

You can tell that Altiyan has drawn inspiration from his life when penning this track, and the lyrics reveal his struggle with the media in recent times.

He belts in the chorus 'I don’t need to be saved, don’t tell me I’m crazy, you can publish your lies, here’s the headline - I had the time of my life.'

To celebrate the release of ‘Headlines’ and Altiyan’s upcoming album ‘Born Before The Sun’, Take 40 and Oxygen Music Group also have something else special planned for the Alti-fans – the chance to MEET Altiyan Childs himself!

We are offering one lucky winner and a friend the chance to have dinner with Altiyan in Melbourne, and the opportunity to ask him whatever burning questions your heart desires!

Sound like a dream come true? Enter our competition here!

Listen to Altiyan’s new song ‘Headlines’ below, we’ve included the lyrics as well so you can learn all the words by heart!

Headlines by Altiyan Childs - LYRICS

I’m packing up, heading up to Monte Carlo,
I left my cave I’m in control
I’m driving fast but moving too slow

I’m moving on, heading in a new direction
Don’t matter if we make it or not
We’ll always know we gave it a shot
I won’t let forever pass me by

I don’t need to be saved
Don’t tell me I’m crazy
You can publish your lies
Here’s the headline
I had the time of my life

The telephone,
Lonely on a broken highway
I call you with the radio on,
We’re laughing cos they’re playing our song

I’m packing up, I’ll visit you in California,
In my fast car painted yellow,
Drop top foot to the floor,
Take it all the way,
Don’t let forever pass you by

I don’t need to be saved
Don’t tell me I’m crazy
You can publish your lies
Here’s the headline
I had the time of my life!

Everybody’s got a dream,
Impossible it might seem,
I’m coming to tell you,
I had the time
I had the time of my life

I don’t need to be saved
I’m just a little bit crazy
You can publish your lies
Here’s the headline
I had the time of my life!

Let’s make a new memory
Tomorrow it might not be
I’m coming to tell you
I had the time
You had the time
We had the time of my life!

Check out 'Headlines' below - we recommend you turn your speakers right up for this one!

'Headlines' will be on sale December 7th through iTunes!

Angus O'Loughlin

Angus, brings the charm and tongue-in-cheek flavour to the countries only official countdown – Take 40 with co-host Ash London.

He hangs his hat on doing "real" interviews where he is not afraid to explore anything and everything about the person sitting across from him.
