PHOTOS: Lady Gaga's African Safari!

02 December 2012

Lady Gaga took some much deserved time out in South Africa this week ahead of the next concert on her ‘Born This Way Ball’ world tour. So what do you get up to when you're in South Africa? Take a safari trip of course!

The singer arrived in South Africa several days before her first Friday show in Johannesburg, and she made the most of her time by heading off on a special safari to see a pride of lions in the wild.

And Gaga clearly loved the animal adventure – she documented her findings in a series of Twitter posts, sharing photos of her lion-spotting with her fans.

The first Twitpic photo (above right) was captioned, "Safari picture: in this photo I'm about 10 feet from 13 lions, 2 cubs. I spent about 30 minutes w (with) them and took a nap!”

The next Twitpic photo (below) was captioned, “the lion pride even woke up at one point and let us come closer :) (on the left)”

The final safari Twitpic (below) was captioned “SAFARI PICTURES: i took this one about 5 feet away from her, isn't she beautiful!”

Gaga rounded out her series of posts about her adventure saying, “& yes I cut a hole in my bush hat so my pony could stick out #SafariBarbie #Glambi my scarf was a gift from the Princess of Monaco, thanku!”

After her brush with the native animals Gaga went on to perform her Johannesburg show – and once again she reported in on how wonderful the experience was by tweeting, “Johannesburg was so wonderful, i can't really put it into words. Im so happy, I haven't slept yet. Laying in bed dreaming of the next tour.”
