Keith Urban Credits Wife Nicole Kidman For Keeping Him Sober

Keith Urban has revealed that it’s Aussie wife Nicole Kidman that has kept him on the sobriety train.

Despite checking into rehab four months after getting married to Nicole, the troubled singer has now managed to stay sober for 6 years.

When he checked into the Betty Ford Center in California in October of 2006, he said in a statement "I deeply regret the hurt this has caused Nicole and the ones who love and support me. One can never let one's guard down on recovery, and I'm afraid that I have."

According to the country superstar himself, Nicole has provided the support he needed, which in turn prevented him from relapsing into cocaine and alcohol addiction again.

Father Ed Steiner of The Cathedral of Incarnation revealed to Celebuzz: “As an observer, I would say his faith is a strength… And as an observer, I would say Nicole’s faith has an influence on him as well - because he madly loves her.”

“If I were to hear that they were breaking up, I think I would just have to give up my job… You know I’ve been doing this for 30 years, it’s the whole body language thing you just see it.

“Their body language suggests that they are a man and woman madly in love. The way you see them talk about the children... just to see them strolling about the campus they are like a couple that are clicking - it’s obvious.”

Keith Urban has had three stints in rehab. He is currently a judge on American Idol.
