Justin Bieber's Nightclub Birthday Party Cancelled Due To Underage Guests

03 March 2013

The plans for Justin Bieber’s extravagant 19th birthday at a London nightclub this weekend have not gone as smoothly as planned.

The pop star, who turned 19 on March 1, took time out from his UK touring schedule for a $15,000 circus-themed party at London nightclub Cirque Du Soir. According to both Justin and his manager Scooter Braun’s twitter messages, the plan was to have a big night of partying.

However the evening was cut short when Justin’s crew had a run-in with the nightclub’s security team. The reason? Justin’s underage party guests including Jaden Smith (son of Will and Jada) were refused entry.  The UK's legal drinking age limit is 18 and the same applies for entry to a nightclub.

This refusal of entry led Justin to pull the pin on his birthday celebrations and depart the nightclub early. Sometime around this point Justin sent out a tweet referencing the incident stating, “worst birthday”.

Representatives for the Cirque Du Soir nightclub have released an official statement regarding the incident:

"We, like all clubs in London, operate a strict age policy. As a few of the members of the party were under the suitable age of 18, the security team at Cirque Du Soir, London, clearly explained this rule and refused entry to the club for anyone who could not provide us with adequate proof of age. Justin Bieber visits Cirque Du Soir regularly, and he and his friends are always welcome, as long the members of the group are legally old enough to enter the club. This was simply a matter of regulation that we must adhere to.”

“We are very sorry, and understand it's his birthday, but our hands are tied with local authorities and rules we need to follow as club to keep our license. We clearly didn't want to give him the 'worst birthday.' He is a friend and previously was always welcomed with open arms."

The lesson in it all? The rules are the rules – even if you are Justin Bieber!

Justin has been friends with Jaden Smith since they two worked on the track, ‘Never Say Never’ together. Check out the song’s video clip here:
