Kylie's Kidnapping Hoax

24 July 2003

A group of documentary makers got themselves into very hot water recently, when they staged a fake kidnapping of pop princess Kylie Minogue.

Distressed Londoners called emergency services, after they saw a Kylie look-a-like bundled into a car outside the singer's South West London apartment. Police then began an extensive door-to-door investigation, while Kylie's management started checking on her whereabouts.

But the hunt was called off when the documentary makers contacted officials to tell them that it was all staged for filming purposes.

A spokesman for Kylie said: "This is an incredibly irresponsible thing to do and I can't believe anyone would be that stupid."
