Mariah Carey Delays New Album, Says She's Not Ready Yet!

25 June 2013

Some bad news for Mariah Carey’s lambs – with the songstress pushing back the release of her new album in order to perfect the project!

The Art of Letting Go was due to hit shelves on 23 July (2013), but Mariah feels that she isn’t quite ready to release the album – taking to her Twitter.com page on Monday night (24 June) to tell fans she is delaying the release.

In a series of posts, she wrote, "While making this album, I got so immersed in the creative process that I just don't feel I would be doing it justice to release it on 7/23.

"I'd rather not exclude meaningful songs. I want to give you this album as it's meant to be heard. When I'm ready, you'll be the first 2 (to) know!"

So far it seems that Mimi is getting only positive responses to the news with fans writing to the star to say, “We can wait. Your creativity is A+Mazing. Can’t wait to hear the album when its all finished :)”

Another posted, “Take all the time you need beautiful!!!We’ll always support you!”

If her collab with Miguel is anything to go by – this album will be worth the wait!
