The X Factor Australia Boot Camp Recap - Jiordan Tolli Stuns With Kate Bush's Running Up That Hill

13 August 2013

Tonight marks the last night of the super boot camp stage of The X Factor Australia – with the show promising the first look at the mixed group, plus solo performances from early favourites Jai, Jiordan and Will Perrett.

First off the bat is the mixed group consisting of Kelebek, Jordan and Jacinta – taking on Blackstreet’s No Diggity.

Despite initially struggling with the judge’s decision to put them in a threesome – the group manage to pull it together and deliver a performance that has all three judges grooving in their seats!

Cat Vass follows on from the group, giving a haunting rendition of Bob Marley’s Is This Love that leaves the judges asking where she has been all this time!

Young standout Calmell Teagle failed to impress the judges with her performance of Paramore’s Still Into You –with Ronan saying that her rendition “didn’t do anything for me”.

Will Perrett also let the nerves get the better of him – with his incredible voice failing to shine through in his take on Michael Jackson’s Human Nature.

Wunderkind Jai Waetford once again had the judges grinning from ear to ear with his performance of Taylor Swift’s We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together – with it already clear that he is set to be a main player in the show.

But the performance of the night belonged to Jiordan Tolli who gave a spine-tingling rendition of Kate Bush’s Running Up That Hill – with the judges calling her “beautiful, charming” and her voice “timeless”.

Vendulka was back in fine form with her guitar in hand for her performance of the Dire Straits Romeo + Juliet – with Ronan saying it was “the best we have ever seen her”.

Then the girl groups did their thing with Eleme5t leaving the judges speechless with their performance of Ain’t Too Proud To Beg  - while AdiraBelle had RedFoo prophesising that they would be the best group in the competition!

Other highlights included Ellie Lovegrove’s stunning performance of Call Your Girlfriend by Robyn and JTR taking on Taylor Swift’s 22.

Tee gave an emotional powerhouse performance of Adele’s One And Only with RedFoo calling it near “perfect”.
