Katy Perry has come under fire for her live performances again, this time getting criticised for apparently ruining the Beatles song ‘Yesterday’ in a recent tribute concert!
The pop star performed in the CBS special ‘The Beatles: The Night That Changed America — A Grammy Salute’ and while she definitely didn’t lip-sync this time around, her rendition of ‘Yesterday’ was not met with high-praise.
Katy sang a stripped back arrangement of the classic Beatles ballad, and even changed the iconic lyrics "I'm not half the man I used to be" to "I'm not half the girl I used to be."
You can imagine how the hardcore Beatles fans reacted to that! (Terribly, is the answer.)

Who allowed Katy Perry to butcher the Beatles "Yesterday" during tribute...in front of McCartney and Ringo? I'm dying inside. #Beatles50— Sara Bensaull (@saraaaa28) February 11, 2014
@DisturbedDemato Oh, grow up. There are only a few ppl who can sing ANY song well. "Yesterday" is NOT a song Katy Perry sings well, period.— L.N. Smithee (@LNSmithee) February 11, 2014
Did Katy Perry really change the lyrics to "Yesterday" by the Beatles... Yikes!! @katyperry I'd hate to be her right this week— Drew Sozio (@Soz86) February 11, 2014

OH. MY. GOD. Who in their right mind would let Katy Perry perform "Yesterday" by The Beatles or any Beatles song in general?!?!?!?!?!?!— CARMEN (@CarmarSuperstar) February 11, 2014
Her outfit choice for the performance has also received similarly negative comments. Poor Katy!
Do you think her performance deserved the criticism? We thought her vocals were strong, and she performed with a lot of heart! The audience seemed to love it too.
