Younger Than Yesterday are sent home - The X Factor recap (18/08/14)

18 August 2014

Last night (Sunday 17) the top 12 were tasked with the massive responsibility of taking on some of the biggest names in the music business for legends week.

While some acts soared (we are looking at you Tee) others had the judges battling in their seats and crying foul play.

The legends were out to play tonight - The X Factor RECAP (17/08/2014)

But before we find out which judge is saying goodbye to their act tonight – 20-something year olds around Australia got in touch with their inner teen with Hanson taking to the stage to perform their latest track Get the Girl Back!

Looking much more chiselled and manly than we remember them, the brothers then launched into the hit that made them a 90’s icon MMBOP – with a little help from the top 12.

Despite coming 6th in the UK version of The X Factor, Ella Henderson’s undeniable talent has led to her single Ghost storming up charts around the world. Tonight she arrives in a blaze of light on a stage lit up with flashing light bulbs and puts in a performance worthy of her international fame for the X Factor crowd!

Then it is down to the business end of the show, with Dannii Minogue’s worst nightmare becoming a reality. After losing the first act of the competition last week in girl group Trill – Dannii now has to face the certainty of losing another as the show created boy band Younger Than Yesterday is voted in the bottom two alongside the girl group XOX.

With a number of fierce hair flicks and fire crackers exploding out of every corner of the stage, G.R.L arrive for a sassy rendition of their ARIA #2 smash hit Ugly Heart. We recently had the girls in our studio and haven’t stopped wishing we could be the 6th member ever since!

G.R.L are live in the studio

Then it is down to the groups to battle it out with their handpicked song choices – with XOX kicking things off with Jessie J’s Nobody’s Perfect. And we have to say… They brought it HARD!

Younger Than Yesterday then performed an infectious rendition of Imagine Dragon’s On Top of the World – charming the crowd with their usual happy-go-lucky vibe.

But unfortunately it wasn’t enough, with RedFoo, Nat Bass and Ronan all opting to send Younger Than Yesterday home over XOX.

Who does Luke Jacobz think will win The X Factor? Find out here!

Did they make the right choice?

Make sure you tune in on Sunday for the decade challenge – with the judges tasked with choosing a particular decade for their acts!
