The top 11 transported the audience to different decades last night (Sunday 24) – taking on hits from the 70’s, 80’s and now!
But before we find out who came out on top and who failed to impress the audiences at home, the top 11 are back onstage and performing Charlie XCX’s teen romance anthem Boom Clash.
The performance is all spinning cameras, bright colours and feel good vibes – and we have to say it is one of the best yet!
But no amount of onstage good vibes will help Dannii Minogue, who is still smarting from the comments last night from Ronan and RedFoo over her girl group XOX and hoping against all odds that it isn’t another ‘Min-no-no Monday’.
Things only get worse when all three judges predict that Dannii could be saying goodbye to her third act in a row tonight – with the judge commenting ‘I feel like vomiting’!
But before we find out whether Nat, Ronan and RedFoo’s predictions are true, Aussie icon Jimmy Barnes takes to the stage with his iconic gravel toned voice to sing his track I’d Die With You Tonight.
He is joined by friend Diesel shredding on the guitar and daughter Mahalia who showcases her impressive pipes as his backup singer – turning the X Factor stadium into a rock show.
Then it is time for the all-important announcement, with both Ronan and Natalie getting the shock of their lives when Adrien and Sydnee are named as the bottom two!
Before they take to the stage to perform their last chance songs, the ethereal Gabrielle Alpin gives a mesmerising performance of her song Please Don’t Say You Love Me.
Set against a simple backdrop of lights, the pint sized singer manages to hold the audience’s attention just by the power of her lilting vocals.
Then just like that it is time for Sydnee and Adrien to make their case to the judges with their last ditch effort tracks.
Sydnee takes on Outkast’s Hey Ya in the style of Sarah Blasco, absolutely nailing her delivery and showcasing her gorgeous tone.
Adrien also comes out fighting with his rendition of Bonnie Raitt’s I Can’t Make You Love Me, using his stunning falsetto to his advantage.
With both acts already looking teary, the judges make their comments – with Ronan and Natalie both throwing their support behind their acts.
RedFoo decides to send Adrien home over Sydnee, saying that he feels the school girl has more potential to grow in the competition. Dannii then sends the vote into deadlock after she puts her vote behind Sydnee to go home.
Based off of the public’s vote a devastated Adrien is sent home.Do you think the right decision was made tonight?
