Chris Martin Flattered By Bono Comparisons

16 June 2005

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has said that he is flattered when people compare him to U2 singer Bono.

Chris is supporting the cause Make Trade Fair, with his involvement drawing comparisons between him and Bono.

Chris said of the comparisons: "Well first of all that description is very nice, but he is on a slightly different level.

"If you're talking about fair trade or Make Trade Fair, we're just something that's important to us, we're not doing it because we want to be spokespeople or because it's something we feel we should be doing.

"We see it as an endorsement really, just as if we were sponsoring a soft drink or a pair of shoes."
